La Vicalanda Tempranillo Blanco

The 2022 La Vicalanda Tempranillo Blanco has a balsamic nose with notes of bay leaf, white flowers and citrus. It has contained ripeness and 13% alcohol, with a modern profile, good freshness and a fresh palate that is fruit-driven and serious, with a clean finish. It fermented at a low temperature and matured in French oak foudres for 10 months. 10,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2023. This was first produced in 2019.

The new 2020 La Vicalanda Tempranillo Blanco is the first vintage for this bottling from the early-ripening variety that delivers notes of white flowers and citrus if picked early (this is 13.5%) and with subtle spice from six months in oak foudres. This is one of the finest bottlings of the finicky variety that I think we're beginning to understand just now. It's clean, straightforward and fresh. 4,500 bottles were filled in January 2022.
